Privacy

We do not sell your personal information. Your contact details reach a club only when you ask that club a question and check the box telling us to send them. Reading the site needs no account at all.

What we collect

When you browse without an account: pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and the site you came from. We use privacy-preserving analytics and do not build advertising profiles.

When you create an account: your name, email address, and either a password or the identifier from the sign-in provider you chose. Parents attest they are 18 or older. Players attest they are 13 or older.

When you ask a club a question: your name, email, optional phone number, your player's age group and position, your city, and your message.

When you verify a roster or submit cost information: the document you upload, the amounts you report, and the club, season, and age group they apply to.

When a club or trainer subscribes: business contact details, legal entity name, representative name, and tax identification, which we store encrypted and display only as the last four digits. Payment card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored by us.

We never ask for and never knowingly store a child's name. Our forms block child names on submission.

Why we use it

To run the site, deliver your question to the club you chose, confirm that contributors are real customers of the clubs they write about, calculate aggregate cost and rating figures, send the alerts you asked for, bill subscribers, prevent fraud, and comply with the law. We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, and we do not let anyone else do it through our site.

Your contact info goes to one club, only if you say so

The consent box is unchecked by default and the form will not submit without it. Your information goes to that one club and to no one else. We never resell inquiries, never send them to clubs you did not choose, and never charge a club per inquiry.

Clubs never see your documents

Roster proofs and invoices are visible only to Tryout Week administrators, for verification. No club-facing screen, email, export, or support request ever exposes them.

Companies that work for us

A few companies process data on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes: Supabase for the database and sign-in, Cloudflare for hosting and security, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, PostHog for product analytics, and Google for the reviews block. We also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect safety. If the company is ever acquired, your information transfers under this same policy.

What is public

Reviews, comments, cost contributions, and any media you upload are public, along with the display name you choose. Aggregate cost figures appear only once at least three verified submissions support them for that club and age group, so no single family's numbers can be picked out. Do not put anything in a public contribution that you would not want published.

How long we keep things

Roster proofs and invoices are deleted automatically 90 days after review. We keep only the record that a check happened. Account information is kept while your account is open and for a reasonable period after you close it. Subscription and tax records are kept as long as the law requires, and automatic renewal consent records for three years.

Children

Children under 13 cannot create accounts or submit anything. Player accounts require you to be 13 or older, and player last names are never shown publicly. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we delete it if we learn we have it.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a copy, or stop sending you email. Email us and we will reply within five business days and finish the request within 45 days.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law defines those terms, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. If that ever changes, we will update this page and give you the notice and the opt-out the law requires before anything changes. We never treat anyone differently for exercising these rights.

Email you get from us

Confirmations, verification, and billing email come with your account. Tryout alerts and the weekly digest are opt-in, and every one has a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing from alerts never stops your account and billing email.

Security

Uploaded documents live in a private bucket reachable only through short-lived administrator links. Tax identifiers are encrypted at rest. Payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend ours is.
