All coaches are super helpful and give enough space and time to every players for growth. The facility itself has 4 dedicated volleyball courts. Website is also very intuitive and easy to traverse.
We have had a very disappointing season at A4 Volleyball Club. This has been a stark contrast to our experience last year with a competitive club in the Irvine area. For this season, our daughter attended tryouts at several clubs, and we ultimately chose A4 based on strong online reviews and the fact that a few of her swim friends were also joining. Unfortunately, our experience has been far from what we expected. Practices have lacked consistent structure, and we have not seen the level of coaching engagement or commitment necessary to support meaningful player development. In addition, the team dynamics have been concerning. A clear “team within the team” dynamic has formed, leaving several players, including our daughter, feeling excluded and discouraged. What has been most troubling is that these issues have not been addressed by the coach. From our perspective, the behavior is either overlooked or unintentionally reinforced, which has negatively affected team culture and morale. Equally disappointing has been the administration’s response. Concerns raised by parents have been dismissed, and the coach’s behavior has been defended, even when there were instances of limited involvement or unclear communication. The environment does not reflect an effort to foster inclusivity or a positive team culture. This stands in sharp contrast to our previous club, where professionalism, inclusivity, and strong team culture were prioritized, and where coaches made sure every player felt valued and supported. Overall, we are very disappointed with our experience this season. We feel that the time and financial investment did not provide value and, in many ways, set our daughter back in her development. We hope that sharing our experience helps other families make informed decisions. Please take the time to do thorough research and seek out clubs that prioritize player development, communication, and a genuinely inclusive environment.
Solid 4+ for clinic/camp/practice. 2.5ish Specifically regarding its inappropriateness for 'larger' tournaments. Total buzz kill in terms of atmosphere. Insufficient room for spectators (other than Court 1) so get to the court early and bring a chair. Warehouse style, so no climate control (outside of the lobby). No permanent concessions, but maybe an acai bold tent. $20 each for admission (electronic) and parking. Plenty of free street parking if you want to walk a bit.
A4 club practice gym. Along with hosting SCVA ( Southern California Volleyball Association) league matches. Ample parking is available. Nice setup for practices and games. Spectator seating can be on the tight side. Seating area in the lobby. Handicap parking in the front. Ramp access on one side of entry & stairs in the front.
Very disappointing experience with A4 Volleyball Club. Coaching was inconsistent, with frequent absences and lack of structured, engaged practices and resulting in MINIMAL player development. Team culture felt exclusionary, with clear favoritism toward a small parent-driven inner circle. Players outside that group did not receive fair opportunities, raising concerns about bias and inclusivity. Administration was unresponsive and dismissive of concerns, showing little accountability or effort to improve the experience. Overall, not worth the significant TIME and MONEY. We would not recommend A4 to families serious about development, fairness, and a positive team environment.
